An Apple gift card adds credit to the balance on your Apple ID, which you can spend anywhere Apple charges you: apps and games in the App Store, in-app purchases, iCloud+ storage, Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade.
These codes are issued for the United States store and are denominated in US dollars. Apple enforces this strictly. A US code will only redeem on an Apple ID whose country is set to the United States. It will fail on an Egyptian, Saudi or European account, and there is no way to move a balance between regions once it has been added. Check your region under Settings, then your name, then Media and Purchases before you order.
Many buyers choose US cards specifically because the American App Store carries apps, subscription tiers and content that never appear in smaller regional stores.
To redeem: open the App Store, tap your profile picture, choose Redeem Gift Card or Code, and enter the sixteen-character code. On a Mac the same option sits under the Account menu. The balance is added immediately, and Apple draws on it before charging any card on file.
