PlayStation Network gift cards add funds to the wallet on your PSN account. That balance covers games and downloadable content from the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Plus memberships, and film or television rentals.

Region is the thing to get right before you order. PSN codes are locked to the store they were issued for. A card bought for one country will not redeem on an account registered to another, and there is no way to move a balance between regions afterwards. Your account country is set when the account is created and cannot be changed later.

To redeem: on PS5 or PS4, open the PlayStation Store, select the three-dot menu, choose Redeem Codes, and enter the twelve-character code. You can also redeem through the PlayStation website while signed in.
